While the domestic market competition is becoming increasingly fierce, the door and window hardware industry is actively expanding the international market. Through technological upgrading, standard alignment and channel construction, it has realized global layout, injecting new growth vitality into the industry development. At present, domestic door and window hardware products have been exported to Europe, America, Southeast Asia, Africa and other regions, with an average annual growth rate of export volume maintaining above 10%, becoming an important supply source in the global door and window hardware market.
Technological upgrading and standard alignment are the core foundation for exploring the international market. Enterprises increase R & D investment, benchmark against international advanced standards such as EU RoHS and US ANSI, and continuously improve product quality and performance. In terms of environmental protection, products strictly control the content of harmful substances such as lead, mercury and cadmium, fully meeting the requirements of international environmental protection directives; in terms of performance, through optimizing material formulas and production processes, the durability, safety and energy saving of products have reached the international advanced level. For example, door and window hardware products exported to Europe need to pass strict mechanical performance tests, and can maintain stable performance after more than 100,000 opening times, far exceeding the domestic standard requirement of 50,000 times. At the same time, enterprises actively participate in the formulation and revision of international standards, enhance their right to speak in the global industry, and remove technical barriers for product export.
The construction of certification system helps products enter the mainstream overseas markets. To meet the market access requirements of different countries and regions, enterprises have obtained international certifications such as CE, UL and ISO one after another. These certifications are not only important endorsements of product quality, but also necessary conditions for entering overseas government procurement and large-scale engineering projects. For example, the CE certification marks that the product meets the health, safety and environmental protection standards of the EU, enabling the product to circulate freely in 27 EU member states; the UL certification provides an important guarantee for the product to enter the North American market. By the end of 2024, more than 300 door and window hardware enterprises have obtained a number of international certifications, and the export volume of certified products accounts for more than 65% of the total export volume of the industry.
Channel construction and localized services enhance the competitiveness of overseas markets. Enterprises have built a diversified overseas sales network through various ways such as participating in international building materials exhibitions, establishing overseas branches and cooperating with local distributors. In emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and Africa, the establishment of localized warehousing and service centers has shortened the product delivery cycle and improved the customer response speed; in mature markets such as Europe and North America, long-term cooperative relationships have been established with well-known local construction enterprises to participate in the supporting supply of large-scale construction projects, improving brand awareness and market share. At the same time, enterprises pay attention to the demand research of overseas markets, and develop customized products according to the climate conditions, architectural styles and usage habits of different regions. For example, aiming at the hot and rainy climate characteristics of Southeast Asia, R & D hardware products with super corrosion resistance and waterproof performance; aiming at the demand for intelligence in European and American markets, launching intelligent hardware products adapted to local smart home systems.
Changes in the international trade environment have promoted the industry to accelerate transformation. Faced with challenges such as trade barriers and exchange rate fluctuations, enterprises reduce market risks by optimizing supply chain layout and adopting new trade models such as cross-border e-commerce. The rise of cross-border e-commerce platforms has provided convenient overseas channels for small and medium-sized enterprises. Through online display and sales, they directly connect with overseas end customers, reduce intermediate links and improve profit margins. In the future, with the in-depth advancement of the "Belt and Road" initiative, the door and window hardware industry will further strengthen cooperation with countries along the route, expand overseas market space, and realize the development pattern of mutual promotion between domestic and international dual cycles.
